To make the mount I simple used the base of the box the GoPro comes in. I drilled holes on all four corners and then cut slots for the string to slide in.
Then the mount with the GoPro on it is then suspended from the kite line by two thin nylon ropes, which are tied and fused together on both ends to make a loop. Finally, metal clips are clipped onto the loops and then onto knotted loops on the kite line.
The final product is able to slide to compensate for the line angle and maintain level and also absorb some vibration. With this rig I was able to get shots like this.
